Canberra

Jan. 6-10 Canberra
We spent the next few days enjoying the Harris’s company and seeing Al, and the new home that he and Phlip will share for a couple of years. Philippa Martin came up toe Canberra for a few days with Al and we enjoyed sharing the sights with her. The War Memorial tour was outstanding and I am continually impressed by the wonderful museum. The National Gallery’s new Aboriginal art spaces were also very impressive, as was the Canning Stock Route exhibition at the Museum. The black walls and clever lighting made the colourful paintings leap from the walls. An excellent display and a great idea. Each evening was spent with Ian, Di, Pam, Jon & Tash and Al and Philippa at times. Cats and dogs too. Walking on Farrer ridge was enjoyable as all traces of the terrible fires had vanished. Finally managed a swim in the pool on Saturday afternoon, dinner, then watching ‘Love Actually’ for the 4th time. Good fun.
We were thrilled to hear that Phlip accepted a job up here and will be moving up as soon as she fulfils the 1-month notice requirement at work. The house n Parkdale has been let and all things are going very well for them.
